Full Moon, Resurrection and Being Light

IMG_1819It’s Good Friday. Back in 2009 I wrote an article called The Last Holy Week. I have reflected on that a few times this week, because I seem to keep forgetting it’s Easter on Sunday. I am much more aware of the full moon lunar eclipse happening on Saturday The article itself has a reflection within it – a lineage of sort. I hope you enjoy it.

I have had many friends lose deeply loved ones (both pets and humans) in the last week and my heart goes out to them as they integrate their loss.

That’s what holy week always was about to me: integration of loss, except we do it in this high speed 4 day period: last supper, death, waiting, resurrection. It’s a symbolic ritual of what many of us experience as humans all the time.

Through my evolution I have been grateful to open to many Eastern teachings and specifically the texts of the Bhagavad Gita and Upanishads. These teachings which some argue inspired some of Jesus’s teachings are deep, sacred and offer much wisdom no matter where you find yourself –  in a full moon release, a lunar eclipse, a resurrection, or somewhere in between,

These teachings show us we are all from a Divine Source and that Source is all that we are. And when we forget and feel separation or pain, we can trust that too is a part of our Divine Path and through our breath, devotion, community, rest, time, laughter, we remember who we truly are and experience our own kind of resurrection in our own kind of way. If you want to learn more about the Bhagavad Gita, you can join a call with Derek O’Neill on April 5 or download a number of his teachings.

May you remember who you truly are, smile, and serve those around you with lightness and joy!
